Your First Physiotherapy Appointment Explained

Your first visit to our Physiotherapy Clinic at 17 Hanover Square W1S 1BN

For Physiotherapy Appointments call 0204 641 0333

  1. Please bring along any referral letters, scans, X-Rays, reports that you may have from your GP or consultant.
  2. Bring along a change of clothes (eg. shorts & t-shirt.) If we are treating your knee for example, we’ll need to see it! Also your running shoes, if appropriate as we may need to do some gait analysis on you.
  3. Payment for the treatment is required at the end of each session. The only exceptions are BUPA, CIGNA and BUPA & CIGNA International clients who have been issued with pre-authorization codes for treatments. All other patients with health insurance are  asked to reclaim their fees directly from their insurer after payment. If you wish to claim  your treatment costs on your health insurance, you will need to contact your  insurance company directly and they will send you a claim form. Each insurance  policy is separate and we advise you to ensure in advance that your treatment  is covered. It is very important to check whether you need to be referred by a  doctor or a consultant before receiving treatment.
  4. Please try to arrive on time or notify us if you expect to be late. You will be charged the full amount for your appointment if you do not arrive or do not cancel it with 24 hours notice. Have a look at our maps to ensure you know how to get there!
  5. When you arrive at 17 Hanover Square Mayfair London W1S1BN (Regus Building) please present to reception and ask specifically for Harley Street Joint Clinic. They will then contact your Consultant who will be there to receive you at reception within a short period of time. Then, in our private offices we will take your full health history, which includes numerous full Physiotherapy, Orthopaedic, Neurological and Physiotherapy movement and Kinesiological tests.

Your Physiotherapist will explain clearly their findings and discuss with you their plan to get you back to optimal pain free health. After your first visit you need to make an appointment with your Physiotherapist or our reception to have your Report of Findings appointment – this can usually be made as early as the next day after your first visit.
